Which countries require AI content disclosure?
AI-content disclosure is legally required today in the European Union, California, Texas, Utah, New York, China, Italy, South Korea, and India, with more jurisdictions proposing laws. The EU AI Act and California SB 942 both become enforceable on 2 August 2026, while China, Italy, South Korea, and India are already in force.

Proposed and voluntary
Colorado, Spain, and Brazil have proposed laws. The United States federal level, Canada, and the United Kingdom have no binding AI-content-disclosure law today, so adoption there is voluntary best practice.
